Winnie-the-Pooh, affectionately known as Pooh Bear, is a beloved anthropomorphic teddy bear brought to life by English writer A. A. Milne. The character first appeared in the 1924 poetry collection *When We Were Very Young* before starring in his own storybook, *Winnie-the-Pooh*, published in 1926. A sequel, *The House at Pooh Corner*, followed two years later. Milne further expanded Pooh’s adventures with additional verses in the 1927 compilation *Now We Are Six*. All these cherished works were brought to visual life through E. H. Shepard’s iconic illustrations. The stories’ enduring appeal has led to translations across countless languages, including a landmark Latin edition by Alexander Lenard titled *Winnie ille Pu*. First published in 1958, this distinctive adaptation achieved unprecedented success by appearing on *The New York Times* Best Seller list in 1960—a historic feat no other Latin work has since matched.
