Hagi Wagi and Kissi Misi charged forward, their boots kicking up dust as the finish line glimmered in the distance. A jagged ravine split the path ahead—no problem. Hagi grabbed Kissi’s hand, swinging her over the gap with a grunt, her laughter echoing as she landed smoothly. Next, a wall of thorny vines lashed out, but Kissi’s nimble fingers wove through them, unraveling the maze like a thread through a needle. A sudden tremor shook the ground; boulders rolled toward them. Hagi ducked, hoisting Kissi onto his shoulders as she hurled a glowing orb, blasting the rocks into harmless rubble. Then came the swamp, thick and hungry. Kissi leapt onto Hagi’s back, directing him to hop between sinking stones, her sharp eyes spotting safe paths invisible to others. The final stretch loomed—a slope slick with oil. They grinned, pulling a tarp from Hagi’s pack, sliding down side by side, whooping as the wind whipped their faces. Together, they crashed across the finish line in a tumble of triumph, high-fiving as the crowd roared. Obstacles? Just another excuse to shine.
